Pair Busted with Heroin Possession after K-9 Hits on Car: Blotter

James J. Burke, 32, of the 200 block of Indiana Street, St. Charles, and Christopher L. Stenhouse, 32, of the 9100 block of Trumbel, Evergreen Park, were charged with possession of a controlled substance, according to police.

Two men are accused possessing heroin during a traffic stop on June 4, police said.

Burke also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Stenhouse, the driver, was cited for failing to signal, improper lane use and missing a tail light.

Police stopped a car at about 11:55 a.m. near the intersection of 87th Street and Kedzie Avenue, according to the report. A K-9 unit allegedly alerted police to narcotics in the car.

Officers recovered bags with 2.7 grams of a substance that field tested positive for heroin, according to the report.

Police also found two syringes, one cooking spoon and a cotton swab stick in a carrying case, the report states.
