Pair Accused of Snatching $400 Worth of Walmart Stuff: Blotter

TUESDAY, MAY 7

Retail Theft

Cameron Welch, 19, of the 500 block of West 97th Street, Chicago, was charged with retail theft, according to a report. He is accused of taking $57.54 worth of items, including some from the sporting goods department inside Walmart, 2500 W. 95th St.

Criminal Trespass Charge At Sam's Club

Helen James, 55, of the 6200 south of Drexel Avenue, Chicago, was charged with criminal trespass, according to a report. James was reportedly asking people for money outside Sam's Club, 9400 S. Western Ave., and had been warned previously to stay away from the business.

SATURDAY, MAY 4

Chicago Man Faces Possession Charge

Javier Hernandez, 30, of the 3400 block of 84th Place, Chicago, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a rear registration plate light, according to a report. Police stopped Hernandez after noticing the missing rear light. He admitted to having cocaine. Police recovered several plastic bags with a 2.6 grams of a white powder that tested positive for cocaine.

FRIDAY, MAY 3

Walmart Theft

Victoria Holmes, 61, of the 10100 block of South Wentworth Avenue, Chicago, and Tacarra Shephard, 25, of the 13200 block of St. Lawrence Avenue, Chicago, were charged with retail theft, according to a report. The pair are accused of stuffing plastic bags they brought with them into Walmart, 2500 W. 95th St. In all, 66 items worth $407.90 was stolen.
