Oak Lawn Man Leads Cops on Foot Chase

Evergreen Park Police said a man pushed another man, then later attempted to take a cop's gun.

An Oak Lawn resident punched a man in the mouth, causing him to bleed, then led police on a foot chase through the man’s yard, reports said.

According to , Hassan A. Kurdi, 22 was charged with battery on March 11.

Police said they responded to a call claiming that someone was hit by a bottle in the 101 block of Utica Avenue at 4:14 p.m. When officers arrived, they saw Kurdi running out of the yard of an Evergreen Park home, reports said.

As police were stopping Kurdi, he attempted to take a gun from an officer three times, according to reports. “The police officer struck Kurdi and he released his grip,” police said aid, then police handcuffed Kurdi and took him to the police station.
