Man with Record Charged with Felony Shoplifting: Police

A 50-year-old Chicago man was accused of taking more than $200 worth of items from Walgreens in Evergreen Park, police said.

A Chicago man previously convicted of robbery is accused of stealing merchandise from Walgreens, police said.

Tony Cook, 50, of the 7600 block of South King Drive, was charged felony retail theft on Sept. 17, Evergreen Park police said. Bail was set at $100,000.

Cook is accused of taking about $208 worth of hygiene products from the pharmacy, located at 3543 W. 95th St., police said. He and a second man were charged in connection with the same incident.

Tyrone Patton, 65, of the 15300 block of Robey Street, Harvey, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, failing to signal, driving without a valid license and driving without insurance, police said. He was driving a car in which Cook was a passenger at about the same time that the retail theft was reported.

Officers recovered syringes and a spoon with burnt residue from the car, police said.

Cook is due on Oct. 9 in Bridgeview court.
