Man with Illegal Television Screen Charged with Marijuana Possession

Evergreen Park police pulled over Chicago man after seeing the TV screen in view of the driver.

Evergreen Park police charged a Chicago man with possession of marijuana after pulling him over for having a distracting television screen in his car.

Corey L. Webb, 24, of Chicago, was charged with unlawful possession of 2.9 grams of marijuana on July 8.

At around 10:56 p.m., officers on patrol observed a car exit the Speedway gas station lot at the intersection of 95th Street and Utica Avenue, for having a television screen that was in clear view of the driver. Police said Webb failed to signal when he exited the gas station parking lot, and they pulled him over. They saw Webb’s windshield was cracked, and they smelled a burnt marijuana odor coming from the car, police said.

When Webb got out of the car and put his hands on the car, he was holding something in his hand and tried to conceal the item in his pants, police said. Webb didn’t give police the object when they asked, but when police handcuffed him, they recovered a small plastic baggie containing marijuana, police said.

In addition to the marijuana possession charge, Webb was charged with having a television receiver in visible view of the driver, having a defective windshield, failure to signal, and having no insurance.
