Man Throws Punches After Being Called Ugly
Chicago resident charged with battery after responding violently to insult, police said.
A man said another man called him “ugly,” and then things got ugly.
Police said they responded to a call about a fight happening outside Harte’s Saloon, 9858 S. Artesian, on the night of May 10, and they found the two men standing outside when they arrived.
According to police reports, Raymond E. Calabrese, 52, of Chicago, struck the victim twice with his closed fist, causing a laceration and swelling to lips.

Calabrese said the victim, a 38-year-old male, had called him “ugly.” Calabrese said he felt insulted, so he punched the man, according to police.
Calabrese was charged with battery.
