Man Tells Walmart Security He Has a Gun in His Pocket: Blotter

Evergreen Park police reports, May 31 to June 6.

THURSDAY, JUNE 6

Pot Possession


Steven T. Flavin, 20, of the 6900 block of West 88th Place, Bridgeview, was charged with possession of marijuana, according to a report. Police stopped a car at about 5:09 p.m. near the intersection of 95th Street and Pulaski Road. During the stop, police recovered a clear plastic bag that contained 4 grams of a substance which field tested for marijuana.

SATURDAY, JUNE 1

Aggravated Use Of A Weapon


Brian Collier, 71, of the 10500 block of South Yates, Chicago, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and retail theft, according to a report. Collier was stopped at about 4:21 p.m. inside Walmart, 2500 W. 95th St., for allegedly taking a pack of Bic lighters. While security was detaining him, Collier said he had a loaded gun in his pocket. A .38 Special was recovered.

FRIDAY, MAY 31

Controlled Substance


Charles J. Florence, 30, of the 2900 block of 140th Street, Blue Island, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license and having a defective windshield, according to a report. He is accused of having 15 hydrocodone pills. Police stopped him at about 4:29 p.m. near the intersection of 87th Street and Kedzie Avenue.
