Two men face charges after they tried to get out of paying for a late night cab ride, according to Evergreen Park police.
On Saturday, Jan. 12 at 4:06 a.m. two men received a cab ride from a location in Bridgeview to Evergreen Park where they refused to pay the $26.20 fare, police said.
Jordan Benoit, 22, of Chicago also took a swing at the cab driver and struck him with a closed fist, police said.
Benoit and Jonathan Rickert, 21, of Evergreen Park, then got into another car and drove away, police said. Police in Bridgeview were able to track the registration of the car left in the parking lot to Rickert.
When police pulled over a car driven by Benoit with Rickert in the passenger seat for not using a signal, they were able to match the two men with the earlier incident, police said.
Rickert was charged with theft of labor services. Benoit was charged with theft of labor services, battery and driving without insurance.
