A Calumet City man is charged with a felony after police allegedly found a large bag of marijuana in his car.

Mario K. Austin, 24, of the 1600 block of Harbor Avenue, was charged with felony possession of marijuana, driving with a suspend license and several other traffic violations, according to Evergreen Park police.

Officers stopped Austin at about 7:12 p.m. near the intersection of 87th and Rockwell, police said. The car reportedly had an obstructed windshield, only one brake light and no front license plate.

Austin was arrested after officers determined he was driving on a suspended license, police said. An officer giving him a pat down found a large amount of cash.

A search of Austin's car allegedly turns up a plastic bag that contained 79.6 grams of a green, leafy substance that field tested positive for marijuana, police said.
