K-9 Hit Leads To Pot Possession Charge

Pot Charge


Andrea Malacina, 23, of the 12400 block of West Prairie Avenue, Homer Glen was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a report. An Evergreen Park police officer noticed a car parked at about 7:17 p.m. in a gas station in the 3800 block of West 95th Street. When speaking with the driver, the cop could smell an odor of marijuana. A K-9 unit was called and the dog alerted police to something in the vehicle. A search turned up two cut straws and a clear plastic bag with suspected marijuana in the center console.

TUESDAY, JULY 2

Used Syringes and White Powder Residue


Hailey N. Fingle, 18, of the 8600 block of Tuttle Drive, Palos Hills, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and was cited for improper lane use, driving without insurance and driving without a license, according to a report. Fingle was stopped at about 7:03 p.m. near 87th Street and Pulaski Road after an officer noticed her car cross the lane lines several items. Police searched the vehicle and found six used syringes, a metal cooker and two bags with a tiny amount of a white powder.
