Evergreen Park police arrested a 36-year-old man for residential burglary on Aug. 7.

A hidden video camera led an Evergreen Park resident to discover a naughty neighbor who had allegedly burglarized his home.

Michael Maty, 36, of the 9100 block of South Turner, Evergreen Park, was charged with felony residential burglary on Aug. 7, Evergreen Park police said.

Maty is accused of breaking into home in the 8800 block of Rockwell, police said.

The victim of the burglary had returned home to discover his home had been ransacked, police said. He reviewed a hidden video recording and found that the burglar was a neighbor he knew and had helped in the past.
