Family, Friends Remember Retired Police Captain

Florian J. Karkoska, who retired as an Evergreen Park Police Department captain in September passed last week and was memorialized by family and friends Thursday in Palos Hills.

Recent retiree Capt. Florian J. Karkoska of the was laid to rest on Thursday as family and friends gathered in Palos Hills to say their final "good-byes."

His funeral mass was held at Incarnation Catholic Parish, 5757 W. 127th Street in Palos Hills.

Completing a long career in law enforcement, the 61-year-old retired in Sept. of last year.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Ellen (nee Konie), in-laws William and Audrey Konie, several brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and special friend Gregory LeCompte, recently retired captain of the Evergreen Park Police Department.
