Evergreen Park Police said a man requested an ambulance four different times overnight. As a result, he was charged with disorderly conduct.

According to a man requested an ambulance be sent to Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers from four different addresses “all while knowing at the time that there was no reasonable ground for such assistance.”

On April 8, police arrested John Pates, 56, of Chicago at 3:40 a.m. at 9500 S. Western Ave. and charged him with disorderly conduct. Police responded to Planet Fitness, 9500 S. Western Ave. for a man needing medical attention. When police arrived, they noticed Pates from having three other requests for the three prior hours, reports said.

According to police, Pates was at the hospital the first two times he requested an ambulance. Police said Pates signed himself out of the hospital and was told to leave by hospital security because he refused to follow the rules, but he didn’t leave.
