Evergreen Park Police Assist in Robbery Suspects Chase

Late Tuesday afternoon, Evergreen Park Police were in pursuit of two armed robbery suspects who robbed a nearby Chicago Auto Zone store. Police saw two men matching the descriptions in Evergreen Park, however they were not the suspects.

At around 4 p.m. Tuesday, said they were in pursuit of two armed robbery suspects who had just robbed a nearby Chicago store, after receiving an alert from central dispatch.

Chicago police said there was an armed robbery in the 3100 block of West 82nd Street at Auto Zone automotive accessories store around 3:34 p.m. After robbing the store the suspects took off on-foot, according to police. “They fled southbound and had displayed handguns,” said Deputy Evergreen Park Police Chief Wayne Gutkowski.

Evergreen Park Police said they saw two men who matched the description at around 4 p.m. near 95th Street and Sacramento Avenue in Evergreen Park, however, they were not the suspects, said Evergreen Park Police Sgt. Jack  McCarthy.

According to Sgt. Antoinette Urisitti of Chicago Police news affairs, “No one is in custody,” at the moment. Police said they were unable to confirm an exact description.
