Drug Bust Near High School Lands 2 Men with Charges

Kelvin Ross, 23, and Ray Taylor, 30, both of Chicago, are accused of selling drugs within 1000 feet of a school, police said.

Two Chicago man arrested near a high school face multiple drug possession and dealing charges, police said.

Kelvin D. Ross, 23, of the 6800 block of South Elizabeth Street, and Ray A. Taylor, 30, of the 500 block of West 66th Street, are charged with selling a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school and three counts of possessing a controlled substance, Evergreen Park police said. Ross also is charged with resisting arrest.

The charges come as the result of a drug investigation, police said. Ross and Taylor were arrested about 7:51 p.m. in the McDonald's parking lot, located in the 8700 block of Kedzie Avenue.

The deal went down right across the street from Luther High School South in Chicago, police said.

During the bust, Ross pulled away and tried to run from officers, police said.

Both men are due on Sept. 23 in Bridgeview court.
