Driver Accused of Pot Possession Gave a Fake Name: Police

Evergreen Park marijuana reports, Oct. 28-29.

Deshaun L. Washington, 24, of the 11300 block of South Ada, Chicago, was charged with obstructing identification, possessing marijuana, improper overtaking on the right, failing to signal, driving without proof of insurance and driving without a license, according to an Evergreen Park police report. Washington is accused of having 2.2 grams of a substance that tested positive for marijuana with him during a traffic stop at about 7:17 p.m. near the intersection of 99th and Maplewood. Police said that he was pulled over gave them a false name and date of birth. An officer allegedly could smell an odor of a marijuana coming from the car. A search turned up three baggies with a total of 2.2 grams of a suspected marijuana.

Joseph T. Cornell, 24, of the 4300 block of South Rockwell, Chicago, was charged with possessing marijuana, according to a report. Cornell was a passenger in a car stopped by cops at about 2:53 p.m. near the intersection of 91st and Western. The occupants of the vehicle were asked to get out, at which point officers spotted a bag of a substance that tested positive for marijuana on the floor near where Cornell had been sitting. He allegedly admitted to owning the baggie.
