Death of Resident at Chicago Construction Site Ruled an Accident
An autopsy revealed that an incident involving a man who died after an object fell on him was ruled an accident.
After a piece of falling debris killed an Evergreen Park resident Monday, an autopsy revealed that he "died from multiple injuries from the construction site accident and ruled his death an accident," on Tuesday, reports Sun-Times Media.
On Monday afternoon, James Quigley, 37, of Evergreen Park was hit by a falling object-- possibly a large piece of iron-- in the 13100 block of South Torrence Avenue in the Hegewisch neighborhood. According to the report, he "was taken to MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island where he was pronounced dead at 5:21 p.m."
ABC 7 Chicago reports that Quigley was part of a construction crew working on a road and rail project.
