Cops Seize Backyard Pot Plant

Evergreen Park Police said they found a sizable marijuana plant in an Evergreen Park resident's back yard.

According to police reports, on Sept. 11 at about 5:56 p.m., officers found a 5-foot, 7-pound marijuana plant in the corner of a man’s yard on the 8900 block of South Richmond Avenue.

Police charged Wayne Young, 57, of Evergreen Park, with unlawful production of a marijuana plant, reports said.

After police said Young denied knowing about any marijuana plant growing in his back yard, officers noticed “that the plant had just been watered.”
