Car Battery Theft Leads to Felony

Felony Theft


Marvin A. Jones, 50, of the 8400 block of South Hermitage, Chicago, was charged with felony retail theft, according to an Evergreen Park police report. He is accused of taking a $105 car battery from Walmart, 2500 W. 95th St. Police said he had a previous convictions for burglary and retail theft, which boosted his most recent charge to a felony.

Bags Of Pot


Joseph E. Kinder, 24, of the 2800 block of West 99th Place, Evergreen Park, was charged with possessing 24.1 grams of marijuana, failing to signal, driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance, according to a police report. Police stopped Kinder’s car at about 5:53 p.m. near the intersection of 89th Street and Pulaski Road. An officer recognized him and knew that his license was suspended. When the took him into custody, police searched the car and found 6 bags of marijuana.
