Blotter: Drug Charges at the Casual Male and a Gas Station

Evergreen Park police reports, August 17 - 21.

TUESDAY, AUG. 21

Gas Station Begging

Valerie Govea, 27, of Chicago, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. She was in a gas station parking lot begging for money and admitted to police that she had drug equipment in her purse, police said. Among the items she was carrying were four needles, three baggies with drug residue and two pipes, police said.

Asleep at the Casual Male

Demetrius Jacobs, 19, of Oak Lawn, was charged with possession of cannabis. He was found sleeping in front of the Casual Male, 2600 block of 95th Street, and had .7 grams of cannabis on him, police said.

Two in a Car, Charges For Both

Christian Matthews, 23, of Chicago, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license and driving without insurance. He was stopped in the 9400 block of Western Avenue for having tinted windows and a burnt out light. His passenger, Raymone Saffold, 25, Chicago, was charged with obstructing identification. He had a valid warrant out of Chicago.
