2 Men Charged in Armed Robberies Did It to Support Heroin Addiction: Police

Danny Tallant is charged with aggravated robbery in connection with three crimes in Palos Hills and Worth, the first committed in April.

A Worth man charged Monday in connection with a spree of armed robberies told police he and his partner planned the crimes to support their heroin addiction

Danny Tallant, 40, was charged with aggravated robbery in three robberies in Palos Hills and one in Worth. Tallant is believed to have been the driver for Nick Koliopoulos, who was previously charged in mid-April.

Palos Hills detectives pieced together conversations between the two suspects, and used cell phone technology to come up with the evidence connecting Tallant to the crimes. After his arrest, Tallant admitted to detectives that he drove Koliopoulos to the Marathon Gas Station for one armed robbery, and later to a Sally Beauty Supply store in Worth for another on a different day.
