Funeral Arrangements Set for John Kuenster

Evergreen Park resident, author, sportswriter and longtime editor of Baseball Digest John Kuenster passed last week and his wake is this afternoon in Oak Lawn.

Author and writer John Kuenster, 87, who lived in Evergreen Park for 62 years had a true passion for sports. With over 50 years in the industry, he was a sportswriter for the Chicago Daily News and was a contributing editor to Evanston-based Baseball Digest magazine until his death on April 2.

Kuenster died of cardiac arrest last week at , reports the Chicago Tribune.

Family and friends will pay tribute to Kuenster Monday, April 9 at a visitation from 2 to 9 p.m. at 5570 W. 95th St. in Oak Lawn. Tuesday, a funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. at 9525 S. Lawndale Ave.
