Five Things You Need to Know this Week: Nov. 7-11

Have a candid conversation about your village, honor a veteran or serviceman on Veteran's Day, and get a head start on the Thanksgiving menu. Here are five things you need to start your week off with a bang!

1. Your Village, Your Vision

Welcome back from the weekend, Evergreen Parkers. We've always been committed to helping build Evergreen Park through providing news, information, events and a forum where residents can discuss what their village means to them and how they can make it better. 3. Money Management at the Library

Need a little help managing your money better in the midst of a life change? The Evergreen Park Public Library, 9400 S Troy Ave, is hosting a free seminar on Nov. 9 at 6:30 p.m. with Mary C. Galvin, investment advisor representative for Woodbury Financial Services who will guide you in managing your finances, setting goals and creating a plan.

4. Veterans Eat Free at Applebee's

You head it right! To honor veterans and servicemen this Veteran's Day, for those showing proof of service. , 2401 W 95th St. is open from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Friday. You may choose from a variety of options including signature plates.

5. Thanksgiving S.O.S. with Chef Kate Bradley

Chef at it again! Come to the library Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. and Bradley will give ample samples and copies of her recipes. Registration and a $3.00 tasting fee are required. The class is limited to 60 participants.
