Recipe: Slow-Cooked Oatmeal
The perfect breakfast waiting for you in the morning? I can do that! Oatmeal cooked in a slow cooker- set it up at night and enjoy it in the morning. A great way to start off the day! Happy Cooking!
Are you ready to wake up and have your healthy breakfast all ready for you? I have the recipe to make that dream come true. I do not worry about leaving my slow cooker on while I sleep- if you do, try this during the day when you are home and just reheat.
Slow cooked oatmeal Yield: 6 servings

4 cups milk ( soy milk worked,too)
1 cup steel-cut oats

1 cup dried fruit ( cherries, cranberries, bananas, etc.)
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Mix all of the ingredients in a slow cooker and set it on low for 7 hours. When you are ready to eat, just put it in a bowl, thin it out with more milk if it is too thick for you and enjoy. We sprinkled chopped nuts on top for a little crunch just befroe eating.
