Yoga is considered an excellent physical, mental, and spiritual discipline which aids in controlling stress and anxiety. Yoga is a combination of physical movements (Asanas) with gentle and deep breathing exercises (Pranayama) that help in lowering muscle tension and serve to relax the nervous system thereby relieving anxiety.
Due to the strong mind-body connection of yoga, there are many emotional benefits to be gained from a consistent yoga practice. A few I would like to mention are….
