Benefit of Yoga... Keeping Your Posture Youthful

Yoga teaches us awareness; bringing awareness to your posture will lead to a youthful, ageless, and graceful posture.

When you’ve reached your mid- fifties you may discover you’re not as tall as you were in your 40’s. While when you reach your 70’s you could lose as much as two-three inches in height.

For most people the first sign of a deteriorating posture is a forward head and curvature of upper spine; the computer age has certainly brought more awareness to this issue.  The greater the forward head posture the more likely a person is to experience neck or shoulder pain, chronic tension, and headaches.

The good news is a regular yoga practice can help in maintaining a youthful posture. The spine must be continually loosened and exercised.  Yoga helps to alleviate stiffness in the spine, loosens the vertebrae, and creates a healthier space between them.  This also helps to alleviate tension in the muscles, tendons and joints
