Kurt Vonnegut served in the US Infantry in Europe during WWII and was taken prisoner during the Battle of the Bulge, for which he was later awarded the Purple Heart. Vonnegut was known for his humanist beliefs, and was a lifelong supporter of the American Civil Liberties Union. Visit the world-class special exhibitions at the Illinois Holocaust Museum in Skokie, which explore broad themes that promote human rights and the elimination of genocide.

The school bus departs at 9:45 am for a self-guided tour of the museum and returns about 3:00 pm. Lunch is on your own. A minimum of 20 registrants by January 7 is needed to schedule the trip.
