UPDATE: Severe Thunderstorms Hit South Suburbs

Rain drenched the area Thursday night as line of thunderstorms swept through the south suburbs. 

The National Weather Service said a severe thunderstorm watch remains until midnight.

Overnight, it will be mostly cloudy with a low around 64 in Evergreen Park. New rainfall could be as much as one-half to three-quarters of an inch.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for southern Cook County until 10:45 p.m.

For Friday, there's a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The high is forecast as 76.
