New Year's Resolutions: Apps, Websites Offer Motivation

Here are some websites and applications that may help you keep your resolutions a little longer into 2013.

The New Year’s resolution is a time-honored tradition.

Make the resolve on Dec. 31 and very often the resolution is trashed and a fail by the end of Jan. 1.

Technology is here to help us feeble humans make our resolutions and do our best to keep them.

Online tech site Mashable.com offers five apps to help people be more successful at achieving their goals in 2013. Whether it’s leading a healthier lifestyle, saving money or getting organized, there’s an app for that. Learn more about helpful apps in the Mashable story

In addition, here are some other apps and or websites that can help make achieving goals and fulfilling resolutions more interesting and attainable.

DailyMile.com – Share your runs, bike rides or other workouts in this online community. Get support and help support others as they continue to achieve fitness goals. For the new runner or an accomplished triathlete.

Nike+ Run: This app, which can be purchased on the app store, uses GPS and lets you track your run, pace, calories and personal bests. You can create playlists and set power songs for when you need some extra motivation. 

YogaJournal.com: Find a directory of yoga studios and practice wherever you are, whether at home or away on business.  

TUT.com: Notes from the universe. Seeking inspiration or maybe you need to start your day off with something positive? The Notes from the Universe are delivered daily and help put life in universal perspective, because as the site says: Thoughts become things.

IEatHealthy – Eating Right Without Dieting – This app, which can be found in the App store, costs $1.99 and shares foods that are healthy, filled with antioxidants, taste good and can be used in almost any meal.

Otherwise how could youRead More condone a guy that has singlehandedly contributed in the skyrocketing of property taxes, the closing of local businesses in favor of corporate big boxes that make no promise to hire residents, and crime rates through the roof? The village has gone from the family friendly "village of churches" to a concrete jungle that gouges lifelong residents that can't even keep their windows open at night anymore. Wake up.
