Headliner: Michael Murphy Rappelled 27 Stories Down a Skyscraper in Memory of his Mother

Evergreen Park Resident Michael Murphy rappelled 27 stories in memory of his mother at the Respiratory Health Association of Metropolitan Chicago's Skyline Plunge on Sunday, May 6.

As a thrill-seeking risk-taker who truely loves his mother, Michael Murphy recently completed a goal to honor her and raise awareness for patients with the condition that took her life away.

On May 9, Murphy rappelled down the Wit Hotel in Chicago, plunging 278 feet above State and Lake Streets as part of Skyline Plunge!

Murphy's mother, Maureen, passed away from lung disease in August of 2008. The event was hosted by the Respiratory Health Association of Metropolitan Chicago to raise awareness and more than $100,000 for lung disease research and programs. He was able to surpass his $2000 goal.
