U.S. Cellular to Shut Evergreen Park Store
The closures are tied to the company's decision to sell its Midwestern markets to Sprint Nextel. U.S. Cell customers will need to switch phones to keep their service.
The U.S. Cellular retail store in Evergreen Park will close by the end of May as part of the company's $480 million sale of its Midwestern markets to Sprint Nextel, according to Southlandsavvy.com.
The local store is at 2517 W 95th St. Other store closure locations include Country Club Hills, Countryside, Crestwood, Homewood, Chicago, Lansing, Joliet, Olympia Fields, Oak Lawn, Matteson and Orland Park.
All told, the company will close nearly 70 outlets in Illinois and Indiana in a process that will start May 17 and could be completed in about two weeks, according to a story in the Chicago Tribune.

Current U.S. Cellular Customers will need to switch to Sprint phones in order to keep receiving service.
