Who gives the best music or art lessons in Oak Lawn, Evergreen Park or the Palos area?

Patch is ramping up its Readers’ Choice program and we’re asking you, your friends, family, neighbors, coworkers and anyone else who knows the about art and music lessons to nominate the best spots in your local Patch.

We’ll keep accepting nominations through July 9. After that, nominations will be closed and we’ll start the voting, so make sure to get in your favorites now.

All you need to do to nominate a business is to add it in the comments below. If you already see the business you want to nominate, make sure to add your comment about why it should be included, because we may not be able to add all businesses to our poll and we want to make sure the top ones make it into the poll.

Thanks in advance for your participation.

I've taken adult art classes with Laurie Snaer through the Oak Lawn Park District for years; being a part of those classes have helped me through some dark times. Now my grandkids also take her classes for children too. Laurie does more than just teach art; her classes are a happy, friendly place to have fun, make friends, and enjoy learning from a great teacher and an accomplished artist, too.

I would also like to nominate Laurie Snaer for her art classes through the Oak Lawn Park District. I've tried different classes before, but none inspired and invigorated me to pursue artistic endeavours like hers! Art is now a lifestyle for me, thanks to her encouragement and fun supportive class atmosphere. Truly a inspiring teacher and a rare gem to the art instruction community!

I have been taking water color classes from Maria DeCaprio Sunta for four years in her Palos Hts home and studio. I have thoroughly enjoyed Maria as a teacher. She is a skilled artist in multiple media. Her teaching style evokes the best out of each of us despite different levels of expertise amoung the students. She is passionate about the arts and this is evident in all aspects of her classes. I highly recommend Maria.

Matia DeCaprio Sunta is the best!!! She truly cares for her students and brings out the very best in each one of her students. I am truly blest to be one of her students. She also has done so much to bring the arts to Palos Heights.

Nina Thorp Maria DeCaprio Sunta is a talented artist and teacher who is totally committed to her many admiring students, both children and adults. I have been studying watercolor with Maria for many years and cannot imagine a more dedicated, enthusiastic and patient teacher. Her love for art is contagious, and she inspires each of her students to reach new levels of achievement. Maria has also been creatively involved in a variety of art enrichment programs in the Palos community.
