Encore Concert Band - Outdoor Concert

ENCORE CONCERT BAND TO PERFORM OUTDOOR CONCERT

The Encore Concert Band continues their summer outdoor concert season with a pre-fireworks concert on Sunday, July 10th, 2011 at 6:00pm at Klein Park, 97th Street and Homan Ave., Evergreen Park. This free concert will feature patriotic selections such as God Bless America, National Emblem, America the Beautiful, and Stars and Stripes Forever, as well as other selections including St. Louis Blues, Great Movie Marches, Malaguena, and many others. Please bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating at this concert. For further information about the Encore Concert Band and the complete summer concert schedule, please visit www.encoreband.org.

Now in its 12th season, the 50+-piece band is conducted by Music Director and Founder, Bill Schuetter, and has developed quite a loyal following in the south suburbs. The Band has also been featured in many Chicago Tribune articles highlighting outstanding suburban arts groups. Along with concerts throughout the winter months such as the Orland Park Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, the Band also plays for the Governor’s State University Commencement Ceremonies, the Evergreen Park Summer Concert Series, and the Mokena 4th of July Concert and Fireworks, held annually in Mokena.  The Band also continues to play outdoor concerts in the southwest suburbs throughout the summer months. Band members range in age from high school students to adults, and musicians interested in joining are encouraged to sit in with the band at a weekly rehearsal on Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m. at Mokena Junior High School in Mokena. For information on scheduling a concert in your area or joining the band, please call Rachel Ozark at (708) 437-7051, send an e-mail to info@encoreband.org, or visit their website at www.encoreband.org.
