South Side Native Jenny McCarthy Joins 'The View,' Causes Commotion

Mother McAuley grad and well-known celebrity Jenny McCarthy will soon be joining the ladies of The View, according to the Huffington Post.

The 40-year-old Evergreen Park native already has experience on the show, serving as a guest host eight times. That hasn't stopped a slew of criticism, however. McCarthy is worse than Elisabeth Hasselbeck, according to the Daily Beast. An opinion piece on USNews claims her "pseudoscience has no place on 'The View'".

McCarthy joins The View as it starts back up in its 17th season on Sept. 9.
