Candice Gray can cross this off her bucket list.
Just give her a "b" and she'll tell you why she's a huge fan of Wheel of Fortune.
A dream came true for her last month when she was chosen to compete on the show.
"I would think, 'that would be something cool to do,'" said Gray, 25, a physical therapist from Evergreen Park, but she never quite knew how to apply.
"It was definitely a unique experience," she said. Besides having the chance to visit sunny California when there was a blizzard going on in Evergreen Park, and solving a few puzzles, Gray said she saw the famous Vanna White, sans-makeup. "Nobody noticed her," she said.
Gray was chosen among several hundred contestants in the Chicago area to compete on Wheel of Fortune.
"The Wheelmobile was coming into town...so I said, 'Mom, let's go try it out!'," said Gray.
Last fall, Gray met the Wheelmobile at the Horseshoe Casino, where producers held an open casting call and mock show for contestants. She bought a few vowels, but made it through to the callbacks, that were held in Downtown Chicago at the Palmer House Hilton, then producers called her a few weeks before the taping, and invited her on the show.
Gray, her mom and a close friend, took the trip to Los Angeles for the taping in February.
Her "go-getter" attitude about life is what inspired her to "just try it," she said.
Gray wouldn't tell us whether or not she advances to the next round, but we'll see whether or not she gets to use RSTLNE.
She is appearing on Wheel of Fortune during "Going Green" week tonight on ABC at 6:30 p.m. CST.
