Holiday Fun With Loved Ones: Get Out!

There are more than enough events going on to get you excited for the holiday season this weekend! Here are a few things going on around the village this weekend.

The holiday season is quickly approaching, and Patch wants to make sure you're getting excited for turkey, dressing, sleigh bells and gifts! There are a few holiday entertainment events, as well as a couple of turkey shoots and a food drive jam going on in and near the village. Enjoy your weekend Evergreen Parkers!

1.

This weekend, Mother McAuley will present 42nd Street on 99th Street. Come out and see the cast act out a classic play near the village. Seating is first come, first serve.

When: Friday, Nov. 18 and Saturday, Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 20 at 3 p.m.

On Friday, the Rumble on Trumbull is happening in the village to benefit the village pantry. Performers get in for free but the group is asking each person to donate at least two canned food items to the drive. Contact 773-764-6474 for more information.

Bring your family and friends to enjoy activities including contests, refreshments, touch-a-truck, giveaways and raffles. Stop by or contact Branch Manager Brenda Ruckes at 708-398-2883 for more information.

Make a short day-trip out of the village to Downtown Chicago this weekend. The 20th anniversary of the "Mag Mile Lights Fest," will include concerts, booths, Disney stars and, the big televised parade at 5:30 p.m., which will be followed by a fireworks spectacular over the Chicago River.

When: Saturday, Nov. 19, 11 a.m.
