Five Things You Need to Know this Week: Nov. 14-18

Join us at our first open forum discussing your village and the vision you have for it. Here are five things you need to know to start your week off with a bang!

1. Your Village, Your Vision

Welcome back from the weekend, Evergreen Parkers. We've always been committed to helping build Evergreen Park through providing news, information, events and a forum where residents can discuss what their village means to them and how they can make it better. We invite you to attend t on this evening at , at 7 p.m.

2. Learn 21st Century Job Skills

Need help updating your job skills? The Evergreen Park Public Library and Moraine Valley Community College is hosting 21st Century Job Skills workshop on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 6 p.m. They will help you find success in your workplace or volunteer activities. You will also learn to market yourself through effective communication, find success through collaboration and teamwork, solve problems effectively, and manage stress, said the library staff.

3. Scrabble Tournament

Did you miss Spellabrate at the library this year? No sweat. Come to the Scrabble Game Night on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Players of all ages are welcome to attend.

4. First American Bank Fall Festival

First American Bank, 3221 W 87th St, is having a Fall Festival on Friday, and you're invited! Join the party from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Bring your family and friends to enjoy activities including contests, refreshments, touch-a-truck, giveaways and raffles. 5. School Happenings

Please join S.E.R.V.E. as they host Dr. Angela Mahome, M.D. to speak regarding anxiety and depression in children. Topics on the table include symptoms of anxiety and depression, treatment options available and medications commonly prescribed and potential side effects. Babysitting is available and will be provided by supervised National Honor Sociaty students. The event is from 7 p.m. to 8:30pm, Multi-Purpose Room, 9400 S. Sawyer Ave. Also, The District 231 Board of Education will host its meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m., and the District 124 Board will meet Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 5:30 p.m. Check back with Patch for the agendas.
