Evergreen Park Icon "Babe's" Unique Possessions Up for Sale

Anna May "Babe" Ahern had a lot of possessions, some of them she never used. They're all up at an estate sale in Downtown Chicago.

Hundreds of Oriental, colorful porcelain and glass figures line tables. Never before-used golf clubs kept in perfect shape. Jazzy sequin clothing, stylish furs and flashy jewelry.

And we didn’t even scratch the surface.

These were all things owned by Anna May “Babe” Ahern, an heiress of her day, who’s family owned the Evergreen Golf and Country Club, that shortly after her death in December.

Patch got a sneak peek of these items and more earlier this week, that will be up for sale between now and March 27 at Chicago Luxury Estate Sales, 111 W. Kinzie St. Proceeds go to the Oak Lawn-based Anna May Babe Ahern Foundation. You'll hear the voice of Dustin Mauldin, who takes us around a warehouse-like space filled with Ahern's valuables.
