Dinners, a Bike Parade and Good Irish Singing: Get Out

Get out the weekend before St. Patrick's Day and have some fun!

Where/When: Bleeker's, 3447 W 95th St, Evergreen Park

Why Go: Fun for adults and kids. Bleeker's Bowl is holding its second annual Irish Bike Parade to support Juvenile Diabetes.  The parade will start at 2 p.m.  For information, call 708-422-8300 for details.

Moraine Valley Concert Band “Dances, Portraits and Folk Songs”

Where/When: Moraine Valley Community College, 9000 W. College Parkway, Palos Hills, IL, March 10, 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: The Moraine Valley Concert Band is an instrumental ensemble comprised of students and community members. Concerts feature Broadway, classical, patriotic marches, holiday selections and more. The March concert will feature dances, portraits and folk songs. The band plays in the Dorothy Menker Theater.

Pricing:  $12 and $10

 

3RD ANNUAL OAK FOREST PUB AND RESTAURANT OPEN HOUSE

Where/When: 11 Oak Forest restaurants and pubs (see web site for complete list) will host open houses from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. Saturday, March 12.  

Why Go: Who needs a designated driver? Free shuttle buses will be stopping at all 11 locations all night long. A dial-a-ride bus also will stop at the Metra train station at 159th Street and Cicero Avenue and the Best Western Oak Forest Hotel.

Pricing: All 11 locations are having specials on food and drinks.

 

THREE IRISH SOPRANOS 

Where/When: Lincoln-Way North High School in Frankfort at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 12.

Why Go: Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, a trio of Irish lasses performing Irish classics. Last in a series of performances sponsored by the school district.

Pricing: $20 adults, $15 for students and seniors
