Photos: Car Show For a Cause

The old rides rolled into Evergreen Park last Friday at the village's annual car show.

A Beach Boy medley of car songs could be heard floating in the air at Yukich Field on Friday night as rows of classic cars got the once over from local spectators.

Oak Lawn resident Becky Koehler showed off photos of what her 1981 Toronado used to look like.

"We ( her dad and her ) brought in in a mess and it came out like this two years later," Koehler said.

With everything from Ford Model A's to Corvettes lined up, Yukich was humming with excitement.

Bill Burns of Chicago came bearing a few gifts. He opened the trunk of his 1937 Ford and pulled out a bag of Matchbox cars. He gave out the small cars to kids who stopped by to check out his car.

"It's all about the kids," says Burns.
