MONDAY, DEC. 20

Stockings

Looking for a last minute unique gift? Drop by the library and learn how to make festive Christmas stockings. All materials will be provided.

Deadline for Nominating Petitions for Boards Candidates

When: 5 p.m.

Where: Governmental offices and schools

Candidates who want to run for one of the local races in April's consolidated election need to turn their paperwork in today to get on the ballot. Evergreen Park Patch will give you a roundup of who filed later this week. 

Board of Trustees Meeting

When: 7:30 p.m.

Where: , 9418 S Kedzie Ave 

The Board of Trustees will hold their last meeting of the year. They will discuss the 2010 levy among other end-of-the-year concerns.

TUESDAY, DEC. 21

Holiday Karaoke

When: 4 p.m.

Where: Evergreen Park Public Library, 9400 S. Troy Ave.

Come sing your favorite tunes and warm up your pipes for holiday caroling at the library's Holiday Karaoke program. All are invited to attend this free event.

Pajamarama

When: 6:30 p.m.

Where: Evergreen Park Public Library, 9400 S. Troy Ave.

After Holiday Karaoke, stay at the library and enjoy story time in your pajamas. This event is free and open to all.

Park Board Meeting

When: 7:30 p.m.

Where: Village of Evergreen Park Administration Building, 9418 S Kedzie Ave 

Join the village's Park Board as they meet to discuss year end concerns about Evergreen Park's parks.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 22

School's Out Movie Matinee

When: 1:30 p.m.

Where: Evergreen Park Public Library, 9400 S Troy Ave

Come to the library and watch Disney's A Christmas Carol.  Enjoy the holiday classic since school is out for Winter break!

Winter Holiday Break Workshop: Holiday Diversity

When: 2-3:30 p.m.

Where: , 4625 W 110th St, Oak Lawn, IL 60453 

Just next door in Oak Lawn, you can have a holiday cultural experience. Appreciate different traditions in the Holiday Diversity fun workshop, which will explore various holiday celebrations from around the world. Participants will have the chance to create crafts and learn about different customs.  The fee is is $8 for Oak Lawn residents and $10 for non-residents.  Only children in grades K-8 are allowed to attend.

THURSDAY, DEC. 23

Winter Holiday Break Workshop: Gingerbread House Decorating

When: 1-2:30 p.m.

Where: , 4625 W 110th St, Oak Lawn, IL 60453 

Have a little more fun with the Oak Lawn Park District! Join them and learn how to decorate a gingerbread house.  Wear old clothes and bring a smock or apron and a container to take your gingerbread house home in.  The fee workshop is $18 for Oak Lawn residents and $20 for non-residents.The gingerbread house and supplies will be provided.

Police Association Meeting

When: 7:00 p.m.

Where:  Village of Evergreen Park Administration Building, 9418 S Kedzie Ave

Catch up on business with the Police Association and attend their last meeting of the year.

FRIDAY, DEC. 24

Open Skating

When: 12-2 p.m.

Where:  , W 89th St & S Kedzie Ave 

Round up your friends for a fun afternoon of ice skating on Christmas Eve. For residents 17 and under, the price is $4, non-residents 17 and under, $5. Adults who are residents may pay $5, while non-resident adults' fee is $6. For seniors (65+), the fee is $3 for residents and $4 for non-residents. Skate rental for two hours for all residents is $3.50 and $4.50 for nonresidents.
