Evergreen Park Farmers' Market at Yukich Field
Start your August off right with some fresh food from the Evergreen Park Farmers' Market.
You may have to put on a sweater to venture out today, but the fresh summer produce will certainly be worthwhile. Enjoy the Evergreen Park Farmers' Market from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Yukich Field, near the corner of 89th and Kedzie Avenues.
Not only is there plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, but many types of hot foods are available as well, from Parmesans Wood Stone Pizza to Suma Middle Eastern Cuisine to Christensen Popcorn Wagon.
Looking ahead
- The Evergreen Park Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual golf outing tomorrow (Friday) with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The outing is at the Fountain Hills Golf Course in Alsip.
- The Oak Lawn Park District invites everyone to participate in a Salute to Local Heroes tonight at 5 p.m. at the Oak Lawn Ice Arena, 9320 S. Kenton Ave.
- The Evergreen Park Public Library will host its Summer Reading Carnival, End of Summer Lock-In and Gigantic Book Sale Pre-Sale this weekend.
- Take the kids along for a night of watching Finding Nemo in Beverly's Ridge Park. (And bring some blankets. It's chilly.)
