Recipe: Striped Chocolate Popcorn Treat

In just about 20 minutes you can make a wonderful treat to bring to a party or just to eat while you watch a football game.  I started with popcorn kernels that I popped in a hot air popper.  If you start with two bags of microwave popcorn, pop them and then do not add the butter in the recipe. If you really like chocolate, feel free to add more milk chocolate!

Striped Chocolate Popcorn                        Yield: 17 cups

12 cups popped popcorn

2 cups miniature pretzels

1 cup pecan halves, toasted (optionial)

¼ cup butter, melted

4 oz. white chocolate, melted

2 oz. milk chocolate, melted

1.)    In a large bowl, combine the popcorn, pretzels, and toasted pecans.  Drizzle with the melted butter and toss.

2.)    Melt the white chocolate in the microwave.  Toss it over the popcorn mixture to coat.  Spread the mixture on foil lined baking sheets.

3.)    Melt the milk chocolate in the microwave.  Drizzle it over the popcorn.  Let sit to harden, about 10 minutes.  Keep in an airtight container.
