Customers who missed the opportunity to order Girl Scout Cookies from their local Girl Scout can still buy the delicious Thin Mints and Tagalongs at a location close to them. Girl Scouts are setting up booths in communities across the greater Chicagoland and northwest Indiana area. Customers can go to www.girlscoutcookies.org and enter their ZIP code to find the location nearest them.
Tech savvy cookie lovers can download Girl Scouts’ free Cookie Locator™ mobile
application for iPhone® and Android™. The free Cookie Locator app lets customers find cookies on sale close to their home or office by tapping into the phone’s GPS or using a local zip code, city or state. To download the app, customers can call **GSCOOKIES (**4722665437) from their mobile phones.
Customers have eight varieties of cookies from which to choose: The Savannah Smile, Thank U Berry Munch, Samoas, Thin Mints, Trefoils, Tagalongs, Do-si-does, and Dulce de Leche.
The Girl Scout Cookie Program is about more than purchasing boxes of the annual
treat. It’s about the valuable skills a girl gains from participating including: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics. Girls and adults interested in joining or becoming volunteers should visit www.girlscoutsgcnwi.org.
Girls set cookie goals to support their chosen activities for the year, fund
community service and leadership projects, attend summer camp, travel to
destinations near and far and provide events for girls in their community.
Profits from the sale of each
$4 box of cookies help the council offer programs and outdoor experiences, provide support for nearly 84,000 girls, and offer financial assistance to girls from
economically disadvantages areas. All profits are used locally.

This is posted on a Shorewood Wisconsin Patch site. Do you guys really expect anyone to drive from the North side of Milwaukee, Wisconsin to buy your troop's girl scout cookies?

The author calls the Glen Ellyn, IL Patch home. I think this is another one of those "Local Voices" that isn't necessarily local to us, CD.

Actually there is a Patch site in Shorewood, IL. So, I think this was mistakenly posted to our Patch. It's a common mistake.

What's going on around here, Adam? Your 'editor' spot on top of the page is occupied by 'Local Sports Editor Ron Kremer' from Chicago (Plainfield, IL)...

Girl Scout cookies support the Girl Scout executives with six figure salaries. All using a free labor force immune from anybody asking them what they do with the money.

If anyone was looking for GS cookies at a closer, more convenient location, read "The Cookie Girl" blog post under the Local Voices section of News.

Bake your own cookies. GS cookies outlived their usefullness years ago, if they ever had any at all.

Prices went up while quality and quantity went down. Personally, I'll bake my own.

It probably would be nice if the Girl Scouts went back to baking the cookies they sell...

Well Inflation is a lot higher than stated . One look at the grocery store tells me that on a weekly basis. Either prices rise or the package shrinks . But costs are higher so the consumer is going to have to pay it...one way or another
