Your yoga practice should be enjoyable, practicing in a way that leaves you looking forward to the next time you’re on the mat. Yoga is something you want to do rather than something you have to do. The goal of yoga is to practice, practice, practice.  Try to develop a “yoga habit” practicing at the same time every day;  setting the alarm for 15-20 minutes earlier each day, taking in the peace and tranquility of the morning, rolling out the mat and gearing a practice to what your body needs. 

Recently I had a discussion with one of my students, we were discussing the busy lives we all lead and how at times it can be overwhelming.  I suggested that she take a break right before her kids come home from school, roll out the mat and do a restorative yoga pose.  This practice will not only benefit her but also her kids because she will be refreshed, renewed, energized and ready to enjoy the interaction with her children.
