Benefit of Yoga … Listen To Your Body

When you practice yoga the teacher is there to guide and teach you; however, it is up to the student to listen to their body and decide how long to hold a pose.  Yoga is non-competitive; you are encouraged to be kind to yourself and to respect your body, working with it to make gradual progress.  You are unique, when you practice yoga it’s best to simply listen to your own body and respect what it does, rather than compare yourself to anyone else.

Your body knows what it can and cannot do.  The more you practice yoga, the better you will become at determining your limitations with each posture.  With a consistent yoga practice you will observe many wonderful changes.  You will notice greater flexibility, greater strength, and improved stamina.  You will also create greater body awareness.  Soon it gets easier to get into poses that at one time were more challenging.

Begin today ~ be patient ~ listen ~ respect your body
