Kids from the Evergreen Park Recreation Department’s acting class will perform the child-friendly play on Friday, April 27 at 6:30 p.m.
Have you ever wondered why bears hibernate or why winter only lasts for a certain amount of time? Well, a few kids from the Evergreen Park Recreation Department’s acting class will tell the village Friday in their performance of the kid-friendly play, “Before Bears Slept.” Join them Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Hamilton B. Maher Community Center, 3450 W. 97th St. for a special performance. “I have an enthusiastic group of students,” said Drama teacher Joy Donovan. Ranging in ages 8 to 13 years old, kids who are in the group during the school year meet once a week at the Hamilton B. Maher Community Center. Donovan begins each seasonal session with theater games and warm-ups “to get a feel for various personalities and abilities,” she said. …
