Puppy Taken From Car, Woman Pleads for Safe Return
Katie Guerguinova, 21, of Hickory Hills said someone stole her four-month-old pit bull puppy out of her car while she was in Evergreen Park on business.
It has been a week.
On Aug. 1, Katie Guerguinova, 21, of Hickory Hills was visiting a law firm in Evergreen Park on 95th Street off of Pulaski Road and left her four-month-old pit bull, Saya, in the car for a few minutes. The window was cracked just a bit to give the dog some air.
But when Guerguinova came back to the car, the puppy with the white patch on her back that "kind of looks like Florida" was gone.
Guerguinova told Patch that Saya is battling worms and needs two more treatments to be completely rid of the parasite. Guerguinova is concerned the dog will get sick.
Guerguinova and her boyfriend filed a police report. They are certain the dog couldn't have run away.
"She was four months old," Guerguinova said. "There's no way she could have gotten out of the window [on her own]."
Saya is very friendly and will come when you call her name, Guerguinova said. She is pleading for anyone with any information to call her at (310) 601-6602.
So far, there have been no calls about Saya.
"If there is anyone out there with any information, please contact us," Guerguinova urged. "I'll pay whatever price to get her back, I miss her so much."

If you wouldn't leave your kid in a car, you shouldn't leave a puppy in the car. Someone probably got angry that she left her dog in the car, and took him. If he's not found, hopefully it is someone who will love and care for it.

And, btw, I'm not justifying the person's actions, just saying...

This puppy deserves to be with my boyfriend and I. We left her water and toys for the few minutes we were gone. It is breaking and entering which is ILLEGAL. she is my baby and i need her back. I am beyond depressed and destroyed inside

Katie, I am by no means saying that what the thief did was justified, nor do I not hope for you to get your dog back. I had a dog for 13 years, and just recently got another one...so I really feel for you. I can only imagine the pain that you are in. The person who stole your dog, if found, should be prosecuted, just as if they they stole a car or a purse. I'm just making the point that seeing a dog left in a car angers a lot of people, and that could very well be why your baby was taken.

A week ago I saw a dog in a car at Walgreen's. I went in for a minute, and when I came back out to my car, if that dog had still been there, I was going to call the police, not take it upon myself to break into someones car and steal the puppy. That is stupid, and illegal. Katie, I will keep my eyes peeled for her, and I sent to all my Evergreen Park friends and my friends in close suburbs. Hopefully this article will help find her. I'm praying for her swift return. Hang in there!!

I won't leave my dogs in the car. I know someone would steal them! (I wouldnt blame them either.........they are flippin adorable! ) But on the serious side ....Katie made a poor judgement call and I am sure she is in very real pain and anguish over it. I am sure that she is beating herself up emotionally.........leave the girl alone!
