With Halloween less than a week away, Patch would like to remind you the rules for the evening. So put on your masks, dress up in your costume and have a safe, happy Halloween!

• For children under 18 years of age without a parental guardian, trick-or-treating will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
• For children under 18 years of age with a parental guardian, trick-or-treating will end at 8 p.m.

Mayor James Sexton reminds residents who don't want to participate in trick-or-treating to turn their porch light off so they won't attract children.

Trick-or-treating will officially end in the village of Evergreen Park at 8 p.m. Evergreen Park Police have been instructed to take into custody any children under 18-years-old out past the 8 p.m. curfew, and escort them to their parents or guardians.
