Police: Evergreen Park Man Admits to Hit-and-Run

Merrillville, Ind. Police said an Evergreen Park man recently admitted to a hit-and-run accident that happened on Jan. 1.

 

An Evergreen Park resident has been charged in Lake Superior, Ind. Court in connection with a New Year’s Day hit-and-run crash, according to Sun-Times Media.

Police charged Edward Arnold Nash, Jr., 40, with failure to stop after an accident. According to the report, Nash's actions at about 2 a.m. on Jan. 1 severely injured a pedestrian and left him with serious brain injuries and other injuries that will require further surgery.

Reports said when Merrillville Police arrives, they found the man in the middle of the westbound lanes of 80th Place at Broadway, lying in a pool of blood.

Police tracked down Nash in the 800 block of South Burnham Avenue in Chicago on Jan. 11.
